Did a Trader Joe’s run after running some errands. But, after I got out of TJ’s there was an elderly woman roaming the parking lot with her grocery cart asking people for a ride home. She finally made her way to me and asked the dreaded question everyone in the parking lot was dodging. My first thought was to turn her down - she could be some sort of granny serial killer! - but after witnessing her valiant, ballsy organizing effort I opted to drive her home. Ann, organizer granny, is a retired secretary who apparently was an avid marathon runner in “her day.” Needless to say I had an interesting conversation with Ann, and decided I’d like to meet more organizing grannies like her.
P.S I am not advocating for everyone to start letting randos in their cars but I guess… try giving people a chance - strangers even! You never know who you might meet.
